Electrical Engineering Project Leader Position Overview

The successful candidate will lead electrical engineering projects for a leading Australian contractor, delivering high-quality solutions to clients across the country.


About the Position
  • Lead electrical engineering teams on site-based projects, ensuring effective project delivery and timely completion.
  • Develop detailed engineering designs and specifications for HV substations, solar, battery, and electrical balance of plant (BOP).
  • Assist in the preparation of forecasts and constructability of projects, working closely with project managers and other stakeholders.
  • Supervise commissioning activities with site commissioning teams, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
  • Develop ITPs and work packs for electrical installation work packages, collaborating with technical staff to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Check electrical works, test sheets, and sign-off ITPs at completion of works, maintaining high standards of quality control.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Leadership ability and experience in project management, with a proven track record of successful team leadership.
  • Substantial experience in HV electrical systems, renewable energy, or utilities projects.
  • Proven experience supervising technical staff, including engineers and technicians.
  • Continuous improvement mindset, proactively seeking opportunities to enhance performance, deliverables, and work efficiencies.
