Our Sydney office is on Kent Street, close to great cafes in Barangaroo and Wynyard station. We work and collaborate together, face to face in our Barangaroo office.

Job Description

As a Senior Software Developer for Innovative Travel Experiences, you'll be part of our cross-functional teams including Product Managers, Designers, and Engineers focused on delivering solutions and solving problems rather than simply completing tickets. The structure is flat, and the process is lean, with a culture of MVP, iteration, and 'build, measure, learn' at the heart of everything we do.

We share in-depth experience in Node/Typescript, React, PostgreSQL, AWS SQS, SNS, S3 Lambda, and more. We love learning and have regular 'Tech Forums' to share knowledge. You'll be both well-supported and challenged by our senior devs.

Your goal will be to make the complex process of travel planning a joy for our customers. Some challenges include:

  • Effectively using AI and Natural Language Processing to enhance our Trip Planning experience
  • Seamless integration with both the wider LE ecosystem, and external travel market places
  • Responding to customer feedback - our Trip Planner team is like a startup within Luxury Escapes, and we're iterating fast to find product-market fit

You'll work with the team to:

  • Deliver features and enhancements relating to the new Luxury Escapes Platform, to ensure all Luxury Escapes members, vendors and internal teams have the best customer journey experience
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and develop software solutions that meet business needs and deliver value to customers
  • Apply best practices and industry standards for software development, such as agile methodologies, test-driven development, and continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD)
  • Implement and maintain APIs to enable integration with the wider Luxury Escapes ecosystem
  • Monitor system performance and reliability, and proactively identify and resolve issues to ensure maximum uptime and customer satisfaction
  • Participate in code reviews & other quality assurance activities to ensure high-quality software delivery.
Salary and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary of approximately $120,000 per year, excellent remuneration package, and a range of benefits including 20% discount on Luxury Holidays and Experiences, breakfast and lunch provided 5-days a week, Health and Well-being programs, and 1/2 day of birthday leave.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • Proficiency in Proficiency in Node.js, Typescript, and React
  • Solid knowledge of SQL (we use PostgreSQL)
  • Familiarity with RESTful API design principles and implementation
  • Experience in automated testing and continuous deployment processes
