Primary Care Physician

As a Primary Care Physician, you will provide high-quality medical services to patients in need. Your expertise and compassion make you an invaluable asset to our healthcare team.


Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver primary medical care to patients according to professional standards, legislation, and established policies and procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to achieve shared goals and maintain the health and wellbeing of Defence members.
  • Assess Defence personnel for fitness for duty and provide care that supports their health and wellbeing before and after deployments.
  • Provide medical technical advice to senior officers and commanders.

Requirements
  1. Current unconditional and unrestricted registration as a Medical Practitioner, General in Australia with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  2. Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) or Fellowship of the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (FACRRM) or Vocational Registration.
  3. Minimum of 2 years full-time postgraduate general practitioner experience in a general practice setting within the last 5 years (or part-time equivalent).
  4. Recent participation in Continuous Professional Development (CPD) activities in accordance with AHPRA.
  5. Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (HLTAID009) certification.

Additional Information
  • This role requires a Baseline Security Clearance, which can only be obtained by Australian Citizens.
  • Civilian employees on-base do not require Defence Force enlistment, and their employment remains unchanged even if deployed Defence personnel are cared for.
