Technical Operations Manager

We are seeking an experienced Claims Operations Manager to join our team at Gallagher Bassett. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for providing day-to-day leadership and management of the Workers Compensation Victoria claims operations team to achieve superior claims outcomes in line with WorkSafe scheme objectives.
Key Responsibilities- Apply a strategic leadership lens within technical claims teams focused on specialized and technical claims functions.
- Focus on engagement with key customers and clients within the Victorian Workers Compensation Scheme.
- Ensure the profitable and professional operation of claims management activities.
- Develop staff and implement quality initiatives, achieving financial targets and identifying business opportunities for Gallagher Bassett.
- Contribute to the development, implementation, and revision of a Personal Injury Strategic plan that supports Gallagher Bassett's vision and goals.
- Work closely with the General Manager to shape the local culture through high levels of staff engagement.
- Implement claims operating standards and practices that are responsive and adaptable to evolving business needs.
- Develop and implement a claims operations talent management and succession plan.
- Manage claims operations employee performance by establishing clear goals and expectations.
- Ensure there is a focus on building and maintaining client relationships.
- Identify and mitigate key business risks within the Victorian Claims Operations.
We are looking for an engaging, innovative, and forward-thinking leader who has:
- A high level of workers compensation and/or claims management experience.
- Experience in leading performance through qualitative and quantitative metrics.
- Demonstrated experience in connecting information to identify patterns or trends that require corrective action.
- Demonstrated experience in recruiting, developing, and retaining individuals, teams, and organizational talent.
- Knowledge of general business and administrative practices and managing cost-effective business activities.
- Experience in facilitating healthy conflict and pre-empting, managing, and resolving unhealthy conflict in diverse environments.
- Thorough understanding of the Workplace Injury Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 2013/Accident Compensation Act 1985.
- Management and Leadership qualifications, or industry-specific qualifications will be supportive of your application.
