As a key partner in the development of the Sino Iron project, we're seeking a highly skilled Mobile Equipment Operations Supervisor to join our team. This is a permanent full-time role on a 2/1 FIFO roster, with competitive salary and benefits.



The successful candidate will assist in the safe, efficient day-to-day activities in the HME workshop, working closely with the Supervisor - Load and Drill to ensure daily planned production targets are achieved. From time to time, they will also act as a Supervisor when the incumbent is on leave.



In this role, you'll be responsible for:



  • Safety performance: ensuring all activities undertaken by employees and subcontractors are carried out in accordance with CPM's policies and procedures.
  • Maintaining accurate service records and documentation relating to parts, work in progress, backlog and maintenance records.
  • Ensuring personal and subordinate staff compliance with CPM's safety, quality, environmental and fitness for work policies and procedures.
  • Initiating actions to prevent the occurrence of machinery/equipment non-conformance, identifying and recording any machinery/equipment quality problems, and implementing solutions.
  • Controlling the service times of jobs.
  • Maintaining environmental and Aboriginal Heritage compliance to plans and procedures.


Operational Outcomes



  • Assisting in the formulation and review of job hazard analysis (JHAs) as per CPM's procedures.
  • Liaising with operations supervisors and other crew/departmental leading hands.
  • Providing assistance to the supervisor or planner on job estimations and work orders.
  • Providing instruction, assistance and direction to all service persons, apprentices and trainees in the performance of their duties.
  • Providing 'on the job' training and supervision to apprentices and tradespersons as required.
  • Working a reasonable amount of overtime.
  • Demonstrating the use of all CPM Mining maintenance systems and documentation.
  • Being responsible for workshop tooling used by the service persons and advising the workshop supervisor of any unsafe tools.
  • Ensuring the workshop tooling is returned to the tool storage in a clean, safe and usable condition.
  • Demonstrating the initiative and aptitude to undertake company training and obtain the highest personal achievement practical.
  • Ensuring all service persons are neat and tidy in appearance and adopt work practices that are safe and provide a clean and tidy workplace at all times.
  • Participating in safety incident reports and investigations where required.
  • Participating in performance monitoring and reviews.
  • Participating in safety and communication meetings (e.g. daily pre-shift and weekly toolbox meetings).
  • Reporting all accidents/incidents and hazards to supervisor immediately, not disturbing or modifying the scene until approved to do so by the registered manager.
  • FOLLOWING instructions given by the supervisor.
  • Maintaining good housekeeping standards at all times.
  • Wearing correct PPE at all times.
  • Displaying professional conduct at all times while working for or representing the company.
  • Monitoring Oil SOS results and educating tradesmen on analysis.
  • Monitoring and updating service boards and plans daily. Liaising with maintenance supervisor on a daily basis to ensure correct servicing occurs.


Safety



  • Ensuring all activities undertaken by employees and subcontractors are carried out in accordance with CPM's policies and procedures.
  • Completing work place inspections and Safe Work Observations daily.
  • Adhering to the WA Mines Safety and Inspections Act and Regulations, demonstrating duty of care compliance at all times.
  • Completing hazard report forms for any hazards identified.
  • Actively promoting safe work practices.
  • Adhering to the Safety Management Plan.


Environment and Community



  • Actively promoting environmentally responsible work practices.
  • Adhering to the Cultural Heritage Procedure.
  • Ensuring all activities and those of employees and sub-contractors are carried out in accordance with the CPM Environmental Management Policy.


To be successful in this role, you must have:



  • Trade Qualified with Caterpillar (O&K) experience on Load equipment and Drills.
  • A First Aid certificate.
  • A Class 'HR' motor vehicle licence or equivalent.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Communication skills.
  • Computing skills.
