About Hallett Power Station

">

Hallett Power Station, built in 2001, is a highly flexible gas-fired peaking power station with 13 open-cycle gas turbines, offering a total capacity of 235MW. The power station generates electricity using natural gas supplied from the Moomba pipeline.

The site is located in an open rural environment in South Australia, approximately 190km north of Adelaide, and about 100km east of Port Pirie. Our team resides around the beautiful area in towns such as Peterborough, Jamestown, Clare, Laura & Burra.

The Role:

">

You will be responsible for the daily safe and efficient operation and maintenance of the power station, ensuring technical, safety, environmental, and commercial integrity over the asset life cycle. Under the direction of the Hallett Asset Leader, you will meet production specifications in terms of plant availability, start reliability, quality, and quantity of electricity sold.

Your role requirements include, but are not limited to:

  • ">
  • Implementing safe working practices, permit procedures, and ensuring all work is performed according to these practices and procedures.">
  • Ensuring safe working conditions are provided for all activities, ensuring compliance with the safety requirements of Hallett's Quality Management System.">
  • Operating the station according to the instructions of the manufacturer or vendor of the equipment and EnergyAustralia's requirements.">
  • Performing maintenance (preventative, planned, unplanned), calibrations, and repairs.">
  • Identifying and evaluating major risks to the assets and producing appropriate and realistic risk management strategies.">

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

">

You should have:

">
  • ">
  • An Electrical Trade qualification (no restrictions).">
  • Gas turbine operations and maintenance training (preferable).">
  • A HV switching certificate, Class B Gasfitters License, First aid & HSE training, High Risk Licence (EWP, Forklift, Dogging) (preferable).">
  • At least five years' experience in an Operator/Maintainer or similar role.">
  • Sound technical knowledge and competencies in the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of power generation equipment.">

Estimated Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 per annum
