Interim CEO Opportunity

The Anglican Diocese of Melbourne is seeking a seasoned executive to lead its operations as Interim CEO. This role offers a unique opportunity to drive strategic initiatives and achieve operational excellence in a complex multi-stakeholder environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-level organisational, financial and strategic leadership to ensure effective governance and compliance.
  • Lead the executive team to develop and implement strategies that promote operational excellence and stakeholder engagement.
  • Oversee financial management, property and risk frameworks to maintain long-term sustainability and foster a culture of responsible stewardship.
  • Support governance structures by providing timely and accurate advice and information to Boards and Committees.
  • Develop and implement human resources strategies that promote employee engagement, leadership development and talent retention.
  • Guide property, fundraising and financial strategies to strengthen the Diocese's resources and mission.
  • Represent the Diocese externally, fostering positive relationships with key partners and stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Demonstrated C-level leadership experience in complex environments.
  • Extensive experience as a collaborative, values-driven leader.
  • A tertiary qualification in Business, Accounting or a related discipline.
  • Strong financial acumen and experience managing fiscal and human resources.
  • Expertise in governance, compliance, risk management and stakeholder engagement.
  • High level experience and skills in developing and deploying vision, mission and strategic plans.
  • Experience in fund and property management, with demonstrated pragmatism.
  • High-level written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience leading and motivating direct reports to advance employee engagement and develop a high-performing managerial team.
