Senior Data Science Strategist
Job DescriptionWe are seeking a seasoned technical leader to drive the development and maintenance of our optimisation planning application. This involves supporting analysis and assumptions review on key data sets, applying statistical analysis techniques to provide insights on supply chain performance, and mentoring peers in data analysis best practices.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with external development partners to continuously support and develop the optimisation planning application.
- Conduct analysis across a range of supply chain capacity impact questions by drawing on various data sources.
- Support analysis and assumptions review on key data sets as part of regular planning processes.
- Apply classical and modern statistical analysis techniques to provide insights on supply chain performance.
- Maintain and develop supporting toolkits, including static capacity models and analysis processes.
- Mentor colleagues in data analysis best practices and innovative ways of deriving meaningful insights.
- Drive project outcomes and timelines whether working individually or in teams.
- Support the overall strategy of our system's landscape by guiding vendors and teams.
- Communicate insights and analysis outcomes to operations stakeholders.
- Tertiary qualifications in Data Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or similar discipline.
- Previous experience in supply chain data analysis, preferably in the Mining industry.
- Advanced Python programming skills, with experience using Pyomo.
- Understanding of mixed-integer programming (MIP) and model relaxation strategies.
- Experience in Gurobi solver configuration and tuning.
- Strong SQL skills and comfort working with large datasets.
- Experience with collaboration tools and ticketing systems is preferred.
