At Heidrick & Struggles, our Executive Search Associates are integral to the successful execution of the executive recruitment process, encompassing all stages from candidate sourcing to placement. Collaborating closely with our experienced Search Partners and Principals, Associates gain invaluable hands-on experience and receive exceptional training and mentorship in a structured learning environment. The role involves supporting Consultants throughout the recruitment journey, from formulating search strategies to overseeing their implementation, while also engaging in business development initiatives.
The recruitment process entails partnering with clients to define position requirements, interviewing and evaluating candidates, building a robust candidate pipeline, and managing client relationships effectively.
As Associates delve into the Search industry, they dedicate considerable time to researching various sectors, executive roles, and functions, working alongside colleagues globally. This role offers significant visibility, responsibility, and a well-defined career progression.
Key Responsibilities
Research & Analysis:
Conduct thorough research on industry trends and client companies, mapping the executive talent landscape to provide valuable market insights. Assist Consultants in crafting position specifications and developing targeted search strategies. Support the preparation of business development and candidate evaluation documents for both prospective and existing clients.Communication:
Reach out to potential candidates to gauge interest in client opportunities, gather referrals, and collect market intelligence. Collaborate with Consultants to conduct comprehensive interviews, assessing candidate qualifications against established criteria. Maintain candidate relationships throughout the search process, keeping Consultants informed of updates.Values & Culture:
Build strong partnerships with various stakeholders, fostering productive and trusting relationships across the organization. Promote a collaborative environment, being recognized as a team player. Act as a culture ambassador, contributing to firm-wide initiatives. Exhibit self-awareness, humility, empathy, and open-mindedness in professional interactions.Ethics & Quality Assurance:
Ensure the accuracy and integrity of all Search-related information in our internal and external research tools. Maintain status reports and client-ready documents for presentations to both Consultants and Clients. Manage multiple projects concurrently, delivering high-quality outputs within deadlines. Uphold the highest standards of professionalism, confidentiality, and ethical conduct. Demonstrate resilience and commitment to doing the right thing in challenging situations.Required Qualifications
3-4 years of professional experience or at least 2 years of relevant recruiting experience. A Bachelor’s degree is mandatory. Demonstrated proficiency in professional communication, showcasing strong writing and presentation skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with clients and candidates, beginning to master relationship-building techniques.Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience in full lifecycle recruiting within Executive Search, Contingent Search, or In-House Talent Acquisition, or related fields is highly desirable. Familiarity with candidate targeting, pitch material development, and market research methodologies. Proven ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate across teams successfully. Experience in identifying market trends and conducting effective research through various channels. Capability to analyze and synthesize large volumes of information into actionable insights. Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM systems is a plus.
