About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Kitchen Hand to join our team at Green Leaves Early Learning Centres. As a Kitchen Hand, you will play a vital role in supporting our Chef in preparing nutritious meals for our children and families.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Chef in preparing meals, purees, and special meals for babies and children, ensuring high-quality food is served to our families.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to our families, including barista service and greeting them in a friendly manner.
  • Maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment, adhering to Food and Council Authority requirements.
  • Participate in our centre's regular culinary classes with the children, promoting a love of food and cooking.
  • Be available to step into the Chef's role during periods of absence or leave, demonstrating your ability to work independently.
  • Work Monday to Friday, with flexibility to work additional hours when required.

Requirements

  • Food Safety Certificate
  • Experience working in a kitchen environment, preferably in a childcare or aged care setting.
  • Current Working with Children's Check
  • Current Anaphylaxis, Asthma, CPR, and First Aid Certificates or willingness to obtain one.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Solid time management skills with a high level of initiative
