About the Role

The Early Childhood Worker delivers culturally appropriate quality early childhood education, health and development programs to children using their first language based on the Abecedarian Approach Australia (3a). The position focuses on implementing a culturally rich environment that includes the use of Aboriginal languages of children in the centre, games, activities and songs. The program is based on the Early Years Learning Framework and the Abecedarian Approach Australia (3a).

This role offers an opportunity to work with an amazing team, providing quality health and education to Aboriginal children.

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to a learning environment to strengthen educator practice & continuous improvement to optimise children's learning outcomes.
  • Contribute to child records that document personal and social growth, development, cultural context, learning and interests of the child.
  • Take part in the preparation and provision of children's food as required.

Requirements:

  • Identifies as an Aboriginal person; recognised and accepted as an Aboriginal person by the Aboriginal Community.
  • Passion for early childhood education.
  • Current First Aid Certificate or ability to obtain one.
  • Current NT Working with Children's Card.
  • NT Drivers' licence or ability to obtain one.
  • Full immunisation against COVID-19.
