Job Description:

  • We are seeking a qualified and experienced academic tutor to provide one-on-one support to students in achieving their academic goals.
  • The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to establish positive relationships with students and parents, and possess a high level of professionalism.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Communicate effectively and display high interpersonal skills to function as an effective team member.
  • Maintain anecdotal records on students for use in reviewing student's development.
  • Display respect and empathy for students with high level needs.
  • Display confidentiality, tact, reliability and sensitivity to students and their families.
  • Assist students to complete set activities given from school, e.g., homework, assessment, general skills.
  • Assist senior students with career development and redirecting as appropriate.
  • Maintain student progression and perform checks.
  • Communicate with parents regarding further learning options and advice that will benefit students.
  • Work with students with learning and physical disabilities.
  • Listen to students' reading.
  • Read aloud and storytelling.
  • Help students build self-confidence and motivation.
  • Complete end of term reports.
  • Support students with mental health and general attributes.
  • Self-design teaching resources that suit individual students based on their level.
  • Assist students to find reference materials.
  • Work under the direction of admin and parents for In-Home Tutoring.

Subject Requirements:

  • English (Primary & Secondary)
  • Mathematics (Primary & Secondary)
  • Science (Primary & Secondary) (preferred)

As a Tutor you will contribute to providing a quality educational service by assisting and supporting students with the enhancement of learning.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education or related field
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • High level of professionalism and discretion
  • Experience working with students with diverse needs and abilities
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and reports
