About the Role

The Department of General Practice and Primary Care at the University of Melbourne is seeking a highly skilled Research Trial Coordinator to join our primary care trial unit. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the overall coordination and management of our research trials, including genomic testing for cancer risk and screening.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining the governance framework, HREC submissions, amendments, and trial protocols.
  • Managing the day-to-day operations of our trials, including GP clinic recruitment, participant recruitment, data management, safety monitoring, and adhering to Good Clinical Practice.
  • Screening, recruiting, consenting, interviewing, and randomizing participants into trials, and administering interventions appropriately and consistently.
  • Working with trial leads to facilitate the delivery of trial protocols and processes.
  • Providing and explaining trial-specific knowledge to general practitioners and other medical practice staff.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

  • A tertiary qualification in medical science, health science, or a related discipline, with subsequent relevant experience or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
  • Proficiency in accurate recording and analysis of data generated from research undertaken.
  • Demonstrated high-level computing skills, including competency with word processing (Microsoft Suite), spreadsheets, data management systems (REDCap), internet, and email.
  • Considerable relevant knowledge and experience in primary care, genomics, or clinical research, including demonstrated knowledge of research trial methodology and Good Clinical Practice.
