Pacific Labour Mobility Welfare Support Senior Manager Role

Job Summary:

The Pacific Labour Mobility Welfare Support Senior Manager will oversee PLMSP's activities to support the wellbeing of workers and their families. This includes providing strategic leadership and performance oversight for direct reports, ensuring they meet objectives in supporting worker wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead coordination and strategic alignment between Welfare Support Teams, broader within PLMSP, and with external stakeholders.
  • Ensure effective management of the Welfare Support Team, monitoring expenditure and compliance with PLMSP requirements.
  • Develop the community of care practice across Pacific Island countries and Timor-Leste.

Tactical Objectives:

  • Engage strategically with key stakeholders on the Family Accompaniment pilot program, including engagement with families, Labour Sending Units, Approved Employers, DFAT, and DEWR.
  • Support the FA Manager and team, ensuring effective management of the program, risks, and provision of strategic guidance and oversight for risk mitigation and continuous improvement.
  • Support the Country Liaison Officers and Delegations Manager and team, ensuring effective management of risks, CLO budget, delegation visits into Australia and to sending countries, and capacity building initiatives.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications in social work, human services, social/behavioral sciences, community services or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years' work experience in case management.
  • Background or experience in working in migrant settlement, family support programs or services an advantage.
