About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Paper Mill Operator to join our team at Visy, a global leader in sustainable packaging and recycling. As a key member of our production team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of our paper manufacturing equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and Monitor Equipment: Safely operate and monitor paper manufacturing machinery, including pulping, refining, forming, pressing, drying, and finishing equipment.
  • Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Conduct routine inspections and maintenance tasks to ensure equipment operates smoothly and safely. Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues to minimize downtime and maintain production efficiency.
  • Quality Control: Monitor process parameters and adjust settings as necessary to meet quality standards and production targets.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate production records and report any abnormalities or incidents to the appropriate personnel.
Requirements
  • Strong Mechanical Aptitude: Possess a strong understanding of mechanical systems and equipment.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills and experience troubleshooting machine or equipment issues.
  • Communication Skills: Possess good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position, including manual handling, during shift work.
  • Shift Work: Willingness to work a rotating shift schedule, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
