- Assist in the installation of air conditioning and refrigeration units in residential, commercial, and industrial settings.
- Support senior technicians in performing routine maintenance and servicing of cooling systems.
- Help troubleshoot and diagnose issues in air conditioning and refrigeration systems and make necessary repairs.
- Learn to read and interpret technical diagrams, manuals, and specifications.
- Assist in calibrating and adjusting control systems to maintain proper temperature and humidity levels.
- Learn to handle and work with refrigerants safely and in accordance with environmental regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, including service reports, equipment inspections, and parts inventory.
- Participate in on-the-job training and attend relevant classroom sessions.
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organised work area.
- Collaborate with senior technicians and supervisors to learn from their expertise.
- A genuine interest in refrigeration, air conditioning, and related systems is crucial.
- Basic knowledge of mechanical concepts and an aptitude for technical work will be advantageous.
- Solid mathematics and problem-solving capabilities.
- Strong attention to detail.
- The ability to take direction and take the safety of yourself and your team members seriously.
- Work well with others, be adaptable to change and open to learning from experienced professionals.
- Great communication skills.
- Physical fitness, as you can expect to do physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and working in various environments.
- A valid driver's licence and own transport.
