Data Protection Specialist

We are seeking a skilled professional to join our Risk and Compliance team in Sydney or Melbourne, requiring at least three days of office work per week.
Key Responsibilities:- Support the development and implementation of a robust privacy framework that enables compliance with relevant laws and regulations across the organisation.
- Create, review, and maintain privacy policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and provide effective communication and training on requirements.
- Investigate and manage privacy related incidents to ensure timely resolution.
- Conduct comprehensive privacy risk assessments.
- Monitor and oversee privacy practices to ensure compliance with applicable data protection laws and regulations.
- Experience in a similar role in regulatory compliance or legal with expertise in the Australian financial services industry preferred.
- Strong background in working in or providing services to a regulated financial services organisation, with a deep understanding of regulatory obligations and the ability to interpret and apply associated legislative requirements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to analyse and communicate complex matters in a commercially sensible way.
- Proven ability to manage deliverables with rapidly changing priorities and demands.
