Data Centre Mechanical Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical solutions through demonstrated deep understanding of customer and design requirements across all key disciplines
  • Review related disciplines in the design process, providing instruction to RFIs and review/approve technical submittals
  • Research and evaluate mechanical/electrical equipment and other typology equipment/component selection to inform technical solution for respective customer requirements
  • Design, implement, and maintain mechanical/electrical systems that support data centre facilities
  • Provide technical support and input through delivery design phase to ensure performance requirements meet project requirements
  • Post-delivery, undertake reviews of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing performance to identify opportunities for optimisation in operation, improvements in design and energy efficiency for future implementation

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, plus minimum six to eight years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer
  • Demonstrate a high level of proficiency in commercial and industrial engineering with a primary focus on data centres and buildings
  • Strong understanding of hyperscale and co-location data centre operators basis of design and technical requirements
  • Understanding of data centre facility design and construction requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Project management or project lead experience including RFQ/RFP process, selecting engineering teams, developing budgets, coordinating multiple consultant teams, and facilitating meetings
