Job Title: Operations Manager

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Operations Manager to lead our manufacturing operations. As a pivotal leader, you will oversee the entire production lifecycle from material receipt to product delivery.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading, mentoring, and managing a team of trades personnel, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
  • Managing Work-In-Progress (WIP) routing, developing workshop loadings, and creating robust production schedules.
  • Overseeing the efficient receipt, labelling, and organisation of raw materials and components, ensuring optimal factory space utilisation and smooth material flow.
  • Managing procurement activities, including generating materials lists and placing orders to ensure timely availability of necessary components and raw materials.
  • Tracking material movements, collaborating closely with sales, engineering, and your team to provide feedback on capacity and progress.

As an experienced and hands-on leader, you possess exceptional attention to detail and the ability to prioritise effectively based on operational requirements. Your strong understanding of people management principles and the ability to motivate and develop a team make you an ideal candidate for this role.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a production supervision or similar leadership role within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of people management principles and the ability to motivate and develop a team.
  • Proficiency in planning and scheduling software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, inventory management, inwards/outwards logistics, and procurement.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with all stakeholders, from trades personnel to senior management.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
