We are excited to announce an exceptional opportunity for the role of Business Operations Manager at Northline's Townsville Depot. This key position plays a pivotal part in ensuring the smooth operation of our depot and supports the success of our team by overseeing daily administration, financial processes, and customer interactions.

The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic environment, possess strong leadership skills, and have a keen eye for detail. Key Responsibilities:

  • Process Management: Complete administrative tasks such as data entry, report generation, compliance with checklists, and deadlines management to ensure all operational processes are followed.
  • Financials: Manage branch finances including monitoring the Branch Pallet Account, handling Accounts Payable, processing carrier invoices, Purchase Orders, and General Ledger reports. Ensure accurate tracking and maximise revenue.
  • Reporting & Analysis: Generate and review key reports such as Daily Load Reports, Weekly Lane Analysis Report, In-Depot Reports, and Weekly Branch Reports to ensure accuracy and revenue maximisation.
  • Customer service: Provide a prompt, efficient, and friendly service to drivers, visitors, and customers entering the depot, ensuring site safety instructions are provided where necessary.
  • Operational Support: Assist in areas of Rail and Fleet management, direct management such as container control, country manifesting, deliveries & subcontractor relations, and CSO functions.
  • Employee Onboarding: Assist in ensuring all team members are adequately trained and aware of safety protocols.
  • Communication: Build and maintain good working relationships, acting as a liaison between all depot departments - Warehouse, Operations AM/PM, ensuring clear communication regarding operational matters and challenges.

  • Strong Analytical Skills: Ability to analyse data, identify discrepancies, and ensure accurate reporting and financial performance.
  • Industry Knowledge: A good understanding of the national freight industry and ability to navigate operational challenges effectively.
  • Customer Focus: A customer-centric approach with a proven ability to provide excellent service to both internal and external customers.
  • Organisation: Proven experience working with KPIs and targets, strong time management, and organisational skills.
  • Technical Skills: High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. Experience with company-specific software (S2, SitePass, InControl) is highly regarded.
  • Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving skills, particularly in data entry and financial processes. Ability to multi-task and assist the team where needed.
