Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee daily accounting operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
* Manage the monthly closing process and the preparation of financial statements.
* Provide timely financial reports and forecasts to the Managing Director.
* Develop and enforce accounting policies and procedures.
* Ensure compliance with established policies, regulations, and agreements.
* Communicate accounting policies and procedures effectively across various departments and branch offices.
* Guarantee timely and accurate financial reporting in alignment with US GAAP and government regulations.
* Supervise the monthly and annual closing processes, including reviewing financial statements, journal vouchers, account analyses, and sales reports.
* Keep the Managing Director informed about any financial and operational issues.
* Assist with budgeting functions, performance analysis, and budget preparation.
* Coordinate with external auditors to ensure smooth annual audits.
* Liaise with internal IT and external vendors regarding SAP and other systems.
* Maintain and manage the fixed assets register.
* Provide necessary documentation to management teams in Australia, the US, and Japan.
* Lead and develop accounting staff, offering guidance and support to foster their professional growth.
Qualifications:
* Proven ability to make decisions, prioritize tasks, and find solutions independently.
* Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and process improvement capabilities.
* Outstanding verbal and written communication skills in both English and Japanese.
* Team-oriented with the ability to collaborate effectively.
* Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
* Over 7 years of accounting experience, including 5 years in a supervisory role.
* Strong background in the wholesale/distribution industry.
* Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
* Experience with SAP systems is required.
Preferred Skills:
* Japanese language proficiency is highly desirable.
