Nurse Ward Leader Position Available

Our hospital is seeking an experienced and dedicated nurse unit manager to lead and oversee the surgical ward. This position offers the opportunity to provide leadership and direction while ensuring the efficient delivery of evidence-based nursing care in alignment with our strategic, operational, and business goals.
","This is a full-time position of 76 hours per fortnight that requires effective management of human, financial, and material resources.

","As the nurse unit manager, your responsibilities will include:

- Providing operational leadership and management of the medical and rehabilitation ward.","
- Ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred care while managing human, financial, and material resources.","
- Actively participating in quality improvement and accreditation processes, adhering to national safety & quality healthcare standards and workplace health and safety protocols.","
- Supporting and mentoring less experienced nursing staff, promoting continuous learning and development.","
- Ensuring a safe and effective work environment through active management of workplace health and safety concerns.","
Selection Criteria:

- Current registration with AHPRA.","
- Minimum 3 years previous experience at NUM level or equivalent.","
- Experience in the acute setting.","
- Compliance with ACQSHC national standards.","
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.","
- A strong commitment to developing in a management role.","
- A commitment to a high standard of clinical and customer-focused care.","
- High degree of computer literacy including MS office and various databases.","
- Ability to work cohesively within a team environment.","
- Proven time management and prioritization skills.","
- Demonstrate a sound knowledge base in labour management.","
- Demonstrated HR management experience.","
- Ability to problem solve.","
- Strong understanding of patient flow.","
