Ultrasound Educator Role

This role plays a pivotal part in leading the development program for sonographers across Tasmania, aligning with our vision to become the diagnostic medical imaging specialists of choice in the state.

The position combines clinical teaching, oversight, and leadership for ultrasound trainees, potentially incorporating supervisory duties and scanning responsibilities.

Main Responsibilities
  • Deliver clinical teaching, oversight, and leadership for ultrasound trainees
  • Mentor and tutor students from initial to final stages of scanning
  • Lead and shape the sonographer development program across Tasmania
  • Collaborate with the ultrasound leadership team to create a high-standard teaching environment
  • Potentially combine supervisory duties with limited scanning depending on interest and program needs

You Will Need
  • ASAR registration
  • A minimum of 4 years experience as a general sonographer
  • Thorough knowledge of scanning techniques and anatomy
  • Experience mentoring, tutoring, or teaching students
  • A commitment to provide high quality imaging and continued professional development
  • Current BLS/CPR or ability to gain prior to commencement
