As a Climate Change Officer, you will play a key role in driving sustainability initiatives within local government operations and communities. This is an opportunity to contribute to a sustainable future for our community.

This role requires the coordination and implementation of the Council's Climate Change Mitigation Action Plan, as well as the identification and implementation of emissions reduction initiatives for both Council operations and the community.

The successful candidate will provide strategic and technical climate risk advice, embedding adaptation into Council's planning and decision making processes.

Additionally, they will contribute to capital works planning, procurement, and asset management to support climate change mitigation and adaptation.

They will also support community engagement and environmental volunteer programs, as well as broader environmental and sustainability priorities such as natural values management and waste minimisation.

The role involves identifying and pursuing external funding opportunities to support climate and sustainability projects, and representing the Council in community, educational, and other forums related to climate change and sustainability.
