About the Department of Banking and Finance

The Department of Banking and Finance has recruited from top universities worldwide and has developed a vibrant research culture.

Monash University was ranked 35th in the world in Accounting & Finance in the 2024 QS World University Ranking. The department comprises over 70 academic staff doing teaching and research in banking, behavioural and household finance, financial institutions, corporate finance, asset pricing, market microstructure, and derivatives.

We have first-class research resources and infrastructure, including a research database manager, an extensive set of databases, and an excellent seminar and brown bag series.

Generous research support is provided via an internal funding scheme that facilitates conference participation, research assistance, and computing hardware/software purchases.
