About the Role

Aussie Broadband is seeking a highly skilled Network Operations Engineer to join our Network Operations Centre (NOC) team. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the high availability and performance of our network, providing an exceptional digital experience for our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and manage network and security events to identify potential issues and take proactive measures to prevent downtime.
  • Investigate and resolve network and security incidents within established Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan, execute, and support network maintenance and upgrades, ensuring minimal disruption to our customers.
  • Identify and treat problems proactively and reactively, ensuring the stability and security of our network.
  • Manage requests from various stakeholders, ensuring timely and efficient resolution.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of technical knowledge documents, processes, and playbooks.
  • Participate in Continual Improvement initiatives to enhance network and process efficiency.
Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years of technical networking experience, preferably in an ISP or large Enterprise environment.
  • Strong understanding of networking protocols, including IPv4 and IPv6, CG-NAT, MPLS, IPSEC, Segment Routing, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, EVPN, VRF, DNS, DHCP, and RADIUS.
  • Excellent active and passive network troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with Cisco ASR9k routers, Cisco NCS routers, Juniper routers, EVPN, EIGRP, Fortinet firewalls, Fortinet CG-NAT, and Corero DDoS Protection.
  • Experience with network monitoring and IT Service Management (ITSM) systems and tools, such as LogicMonitor.
  • Strong understanding of routing protocols, including OSPF/ISIS/MP-BGP.
  • Experience with MPLS technologies, including LDP/SR/SR-TE/RSVP-TE.
  • Understanding of the NBN network, including point of interconnects and various access technologies.
