Job Description

The Cyber Security Analyst will be a key member of the security operations team, responsible for detecting, hunting, and responding to cyber security threats to Nine. This role is ideal for a blue teamer with a strong understanding of red team tactics and techniques, as well as excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

This is a hands-on role in a flexible working environment, with a small but high-functioning and diverse team. The role involves detection engineering, incident response, threat hunting, and interacting with various business units. Strong communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and a willingness to learn are essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Investigate and analyze alerts, advisories, and incidents
  • Map the attack surface, triage critical vulnerabilities, and analyze their impact
  • Curate, enrich, and correlate indicators, creating actionable intelligence and managing their lifecycle
  • Develop and improve detection signatures across the SOC toolset
  • Conduct data and attack-based threat hunting
  • Report on threat intelligence, metrics, and publish internal advisories
  • Automate investigation, incident response, and threat intelligence workflows
  • Manage, configure, and operate security operations tooling
  • Participate in a rotational on-call roster

Qualifications

  • Practical and flexible security mindset
  • 2+ years of experience in a SOC or as a security analyst
  • Experience working independently and in a team-oriented environment
  • Deep analytical and lateral thinking skills, with the ability to make business decisions through robust data analysis
  • SIEM platform management and use case development
  • Technical report writing
  • Client service and management experience
  • Scripting, automation, and basic networking knowledge
  • Web application vulnerability assessment experience
  • Excellent English and communication skills, with the ability to engage at both technical and management levels

Desirable Qualifications

  • Programming experience
  • Experience with network protection and EDR solutions
  • Degree in Information Security, Information Protection, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Information Systems Management
  • Industry certification (OSCP, Security+, GSEC)
