About this Role

Our organization is seeking a Waste Collection Officer to join the Waste Management Team.

The key responsibilities of this role include driving and operating a waste collection vehicle, collecting waste from households, while adhering to applicable statutes, regulations, and policies. The position will also undertake duties relevant to the role within the Waste Management Centre as directed.

This role reports directly to the Waste Collection Team Leader.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate a waste collection vehicle safely and efficiently
  • Collect waste from households in accordance with council policies
  • Undertake duties relevant to the role within the Waste Management Centre
  • Work collaboratively with the Waste Collection Team to achieve team goals

Requirements:

  • Hold a current HR driver's licence
  • Demonstrate basic mechanical and maintenance knowledge
  • Have proven experience in operating tipping trucks
  • Have proven experience in the operation of lifting equipment
  • Be competent in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Exhibit a strong commitment to quality customer service with a culture of continuous improvement

This role requires a pre-employment health assessment which includes a functional, audio, and drug and alcohol screen.

Salary Information:

$1,044.00 to $1,096.90 per week + adverse working conditions level 2 allowance of $48.94 per week + superannuation
