Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Designer to join our team at Avature. As a Senior Mechanical Designer, you will be responsible for developing multi-discipline plant concepts and layouts, reviewing vendor drawings and design data, and managing project teams to ensure compliance with all applicable legislation, standards, and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement multi-discipline plant concepts and layouts that meet Primero Group's and client's requirements.
  • Review and provide feedback on vendor drawings and interdisciplinary design data to ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage and provide support to project teams to ensure timely and quality delivery of discipline-specific deliverables.
  • Communicate effectively with project teams, clients, and stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Produce project drafting deliverables that meet quality, schedule, and integrity requirements.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience in mining, mineral processing mechanical plant design.
  • Previous experience in 3D modeling and drafting in a relevant CAD package, preferably Autodesk.
  • Proficiency in the layout of process plant equipment.
  • Competency in design checking, highly regarded.
  • Ability to review and provide constructive feedback on vendor drawings and interdisciplinary design data.
  • Solid understanding of statutory and industry regulations and HSE practices.
  • Advanced knowledge and practical application of design theories, principles, and practices.
  • Proven ability to work efficiently and effectively within a multi-discipline team environment.
  • Proven ability to work autonomously or as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving and planning skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as strong attention to detail.
  • Site experience during construction and commissioning, desirable but not essential.
