Job Overview

As a Senior Operations Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a site, ensuring smooth project delivery and compliance with regulatory requirements.

  • Lead a team on-site while managing contractors, consultants, regulators, and other stakeholders to ensure effective collaboration and communication.
  • Take responsibility for CAPEX and OPEX budgets while maintaining a strong focus on procurement and contractor performance.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for regulators, local government, and community groups, fostering positive relationships and resolving issues efficiently.

This is a hands-on role that requires strong leadership and strategic skills, balancing operational delivery with long-term outcomes. You will drive growth and success by mentoring your team and promoting a culture of excellence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve site operations, reduce costs, and enhance efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, laws, and industry standards, mitigating risks and maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports, providing transparent information to stakeholders and decision-makers.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including regulators, contractors, and community groups.

You are a seasoned professional with extensive experience in site operations, project management, or a related field. Your expertise includes:

  • At least 10 years' experience in complex, high-risk environments.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering (Enviro or Civil), Project Management, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Strong commercial acumen, with a proven track record of managing budgets and contracts.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with experience dealing with regulators, government, and local communities.
  • A deep understanding of EPA compliance, Dam Safety NSW requirements, contaminated site remediation, and contract management.
