About this role

This permanent part-time Pool Lifeguard position involves ensuring the aquatic environment is safe for swimming and water-based activities, mitigating hazards, managing emergency situations, and communicating effectively with fellow staff and the public.

To be successful in this role, you will require experience in pool supervision, a current Pool Lifeguard Certificate, and prior experience in a lifeguarding position or surf lifesaving is highly regarded. You must also possess strong verbal communication skills, a strong customer service orientation, and sound liaison skills.

Key responsibilities
  • Supervise the aquatic environment: Ensure the aquatic facilities are safe for swimming and water-based activities, mitigating hazards as needed.
  • Manage emergency situations: Respond promptly and effectively to emergency situations, prioritizing the safety of customers and staff.
  • Communicate effectively: Communicate clearly and respectfully with fellow staff, customers, and other stakeholders, promoting a positive and inclusive work environment.
Requirements
  • Certifications: Current Level 2 First Aid & CPR, RLSS/Life Saving Victoria Pool Lifeguard certificate
  • Qualifications: Strong verbal communication skills, customer service orientation, and sound liaison skills
