Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Retail Operations Manager to lead our team and drive the success of our general merchandise store in Yellowknife. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of store operations, including team leadership, inventory management, customer service, sales and profitability, visual merchandising, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership: Recruit, train, and manage a team of dedicated retail professionals, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment that promotes teamwork and exceptional customer service.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels, track merchandise turnover, and manage stock ordering to ensure the store is well-stocked with popular products while minimizing overstock.
  • Customer Service: Lead by example in providing exceptional customer service, resolving customer inquiries, issues, and complaints in a timely and professional manner.
  • Sales and Profitability: Set sales targets and goals, implement effective sales strategies, and monitor financial performance, identifying opportunities for revenue growth and cost control.
  • Visual Merchandising: Oversee the presentation and layout of the store to optimize the shopping experience for customers.
  • Compliance: Ensure the store adheres to all company policies and procedures, including safety protocols and compliance with local regulations.

Requirements

  • Previous retail management experience, preferably as a Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Proficiency in inventory management and basic financial analysis.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
