Job OpportunityHawkes Racing is seeking experienced staff to join their stables at Rosehill and Flemington.We have 4x positions available:
  • Track Work Rider
  • Stablehand

Key responsibilities for the Track Work Rider include riding timed gallops, jump outs and educating young horses. This role requires the ability to ride 7-10 horses per morning. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to ride seasoned racehorses competing at the highest levels of Australian racing and well-educated, quality young horses learning their craft.

The Stablehand will be responsible for daily horse care and handling, including general stable cleaning and maintenance. Prior experience working with horses is essential, and experience in a racing stable is highly regarded. Opportunities to attend barrier trials and race days will be available, with above award rates paid for strapping. Full-time and casual roles are available.

To be considered for this role, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Prior experience working with horses
  • Riders must have proven experience riding track work
  • Excellent horse handling skills
  • Ability to work in a team and independently

Successful applicants will receive top remuneration and excellent working conditions. Accommodation is available to the right applicant at Rosehill.
