Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Heavy Duty Agri Technician to join our team at Bayview Kenworth. As a key member of our service department, you will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of medium and heavy duty trucks and trailers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Repair and Diagnosis: Demonstrate proficiency in the repair and diagnosis of medium and heavy duty trucks and trailers, including engines, power trains, electrical systems, steering systems, electronics, brake systems, and suspension systems.
  • Parts Identification: Identify and determine parts required for repair of disassembled units.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Perform all levels of preventive maintenance services.
  • Warranty and Documentation: Identify warrantable repairs and document on repair order.
  • Testing and Verification: Road test vehicles when necessary to diagnose malfunctions or verify repair resolution.
  • Technical Reporting: Complete technical reports from different manufacturers, in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Availability and Teamwork: Available to work rotational shifts to cover evenings and Saturdays, as well as covering after-hours service calls for emergencies. Ability to work in a team environment and present yourself in a professional manner with a positive cooperative attitude.
  • Organization and Compliance: Maintain an organized workspace and adhere to all company policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Education and Certification: Completion of a college certification for Truck and Transport or Heavy Equipment Service Technician - minimum Block 3 completion.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift and move a maximum of 50 lbs (or in accordance with provincial workplace health and safety standards).
  • Training and Development: Willing and able to continue training to obtain and license.
  • Credentials and Background: Clean driver's abstract and criminal reference check. Basic computer skills with the ability to work in Windows-based software.
  • Experience and Qualifications: Minimum 4 years of experience in a service environment. Must provide proof of Covid-19 vaccination.
