This challenging role requires an experienced engineer with a strong understanding of electrical systems to work on projects involving high voltage power transformers.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Commissioning and maintenance testing of High Voltage Power Transformers.
  • Construction, assembly, and repairs of HV Power Transformers; bushing installation/replacement; onsite and workshop leak repairs.
  • Application of vacuum processes and performing oil filtration/degasification.
  • Assist in preparing commissioning/testing documentation, test plans, and detailed technical reports upon completion of works.
  • Carry out JSHAs (or equivalent) prior to commencing new works to identify hazards and implement controls.
  • Primary testing of HV/LV Transformers (Tan Delta, Voltage Ratio, Winding Resistance, Dielectric Response, SFRA, Oil Sampling).
  • Knowledge of circuit breakers and switchboard testing is highly advantageous.

Requirements:

  • Unrestricted Queensland Electrical Fitter and Mechanic License.
  • Minimum 4 years' experience post-trade.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • HV Switching Ticket preferred.
  • Knowledge of Australian Standards.
  • Proven ability to meet project quality, schedule, and budget requirements.
  • Ability to promote a high standard of safety, professionalism, and effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
