Job Title:

Senior Aquatic Ecologist

We are seeking an experienced Senior Aquatic Ecologist to join our team in Perth.

As a key member of our environmental consultancy, you will be responsible for all aspects of project delivery including proposal preparation, leading fieldwork, laboratory work, data analysis and report writing.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical leadership in aquatic environmental services and develop specialist knowledge.
  • Conduct laboratory tasks such as sorting, enumeration, identification and sample preparation.
  • Design, lead and contribute to projects across freshwater environments to achieve timely and high-quality outcomes.
  • Prepare technical reports.
  • Undertake aquatic/water quality fieldwork in remote areas.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Relevant bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or a related field with specialised study in freshwater ecology desirable.
  • 5 years' experience as either an aquatic ecologist, biologist, zoologist or water quality specialist.
  • Excellent data analysis skills using uni- and multivariate techniques.
  • Proven ability to prepare reports to a high standard.
  • Experience in project management including budgeting and client liaison from project inception to completion.
  • Drivers Licence is essential.
  • Experience in macroinvertebrate identification to species level will be favoured.
  • An enthusiastic and dedicated approach.
