What we are looking for:
We are in search of an experienced Senior / Lead Renewable Energy Engineer to enhance our Energy Team. This role will engage with various sectors to serve clients and execute projects in the power industry throughout their entire lifecycle. These initiatives will primarily focus on renewable energy and energy storage, playing a crucial role in the ongoing decarbonization of the power system.
In this role, you will be involved in:
Conducting preliminary and detailed feasibility studies for renewable energy initiatives. Developing conceptual designs and preparing documentation for power generation and renewable energy projects. Leading project teams to meet project goals and timelines; this includes task allocation, compliance assurance, priority setting, and daily activity coordination. Contributing to the enhancement of GHD's expertise in power generation engineering, covering planning, design, construction, operation, maintenance, and decommissioning. Effectively engaging with stakeholders, both internal and external. Utilizing your network to foster business development and secure new projects. Crafting tender responses to promote GHD's services.What you will bring to the team:
Relevant qualifications in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (BEng or equivalent recognized by Engineers Australia). CPEng and RPEQ certifications are advantageous. Over 10 years of experience in power generation projects. Proficiency in the design of renewable technologies (e.g., solar, wind, pumped hydro energy storage, battery energy storage systems). Experience in conducting energy yield assessments for solar or wind projects, as well as feasibility studies for renewable energy initiatives. Familiarity with relevant software tools (e.g., HOMER, PVSyst, WindPRO, Thermoflow). A solid understanding of current power generation technologies, including installation, operation, and configuration methods. Strong knowledge of renewable project planning and development processes.Interested candidates are encouraged to apply.
