**Junior Sous Chef Position Description**

We are seeking an experienced Junior Sous Chef to join our team in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. As a Junior Sous Chef, you will work closely with the Head Chef to deliver high-quality dishes and provide excellent customer service.


Key Responsibilities
  • Cook all meals in accordance with food and service standards
  • Perform food preparation tasks and check quality and presentation of orders to ensure food is cooked consistently and properly
  • Plan work on orders so that items served together are finished at the same time
  • Ensure the kitchen is kept to a high standard by maintaining a clean, hygienic environment for the preparation and delivery of meals
  • Assist in the daily operations of the kitchen ensuring the Head Chef is supported
  • Develop and implement safe systems of work to promote a safe, secure environment for staff and patrons
  • Ensure that the necessary stock is on hand at the right quality and quantity

Requirements
  • 2-3 years experience in a similar role (essential)
  • Experience in high-volume kitchens, ideally in events, banquets, or large-scale functions
  • Trade Qualifications in Commercial Cookery are essential
  • A sound knowledge of food safety
  • Experience working with and implementing HACCP procedures
  • Ability to delegate tasks to the wider team and follow up/monitor standards
