About the Role

We are seeking highly organized and task-orientated Project Support Officers to undertake a broad range of work in our corporate, project delivery and business areas in support of the Department of Defence of Australia's mission.

As a corporate or project delivery professional at the Department of Defence of Australia, you will play a critical role in supporting the internal infrastructure of one of the largest organizations within the National Intelligence Community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support an integrated team and contribute to aspects of the Capability Life Cycle.
  • Understand project management practices to support iterative/agile working.
  • Support senior staff in the translation of requirements into project plans.
  • Achieve a more in-depth understanding of the importance of project costs, schedule and expected benefits.
  • Demonstrate interpersonal skills to foster and promote a positive and inclusive workplace culture that aligns with the Department of Defence of Australia's values.
  • Engage with and support communication to a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Support writing information in reports and updating reports from a data source.
  • Demonstrate an analytical approach to work.
  • Provide support to senior staff and undertake work under limited supervision.
  • Accept opportunities for mentoring or coaching.
  • Assist with financial and procurement processes to support project goals.

About Our Team

The team drives project management maturity improvements and is comprised of members of diverse skills and disciplines who work together to deliver positive capability development outcomes for all of our stakeholders.

Through these stakeholders, including Air Force, Army, Navy and other Defence Groups, we deliver complex project/programs to enable the Department of Defence of Australia and the Australian Defence Force to stay ahead of technical advancements in the region.

Within the group, the role will be accountable to perform and achieve complex procedural, operational, administrative and business support work within an integrated workforce.

They are accountable to ensure they have knowledge of, and compliance with, legislative frameworks, government decision-making and the Department of Defence of Australia's mission and policy requirements.

You will be required to work closely with other project equity owners and other areas across the organization.
