Mechanical and Electrical Engineers - Rail Industry Professionals Sought

We are currently seeking highly skilled Mechanical and Electrical Engineers with expertise in either electrical, mechanical or similar backgrounds to support a major rail company in the development and delivery of various rolling stock upgrades.

This is an immediate opportunity for engineers who can work as key members of the engineering team that supports all rolling stock project works within the business, focusing on design, development, integration, validation, and ongoing maintenance of systems across multiple fleets.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop solutions while ensuring adherence to applicable processes, standards, and best practices.
  • Create technical documentation related to new and upgraded systems and components (e.g., Engineering Changes, Specifications, Work Instructions, Bill of Materials).
  • Provide technical guidance, advice, and governance.
  • Develop and support inputs to risk assessments, FEA, FMECAs, FTAs, etc.
  • Initial focus on electrical aspects – power modeling/analysis, protection, cabling, routing, mounting, etc.

Requirements and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, or a related field.
  • RPEng certification is mandatory; CPEng would be beneficial.
  • Strong experience in mechanical design, CAD, FEA, etc., for the Mechanical role.
  • Strong experience in electrical design, low voltage, 12-110V DC systems, basic control/switching, cabling, etc., for the Electrical role.
  • Prior experience in rail or heavy industries such as mining, oil and gas, maritime, defense, aviation, automotive, automation, manufacturing, etc., is highly advantageous.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
