Job Title: Bakery Specialist

Job Overview:

The Bakery Specialist is responsible for maintaining current product knowledge of baked goods, removing products from baking pans and garnishing according to item requirements, weighing finished products and logging into records, packaging and wrapping baked goods by hand or with a wrapping machine and label, stocking and rotating bakery products onto tables and pallets, and assisting with other bakery duties as assigned.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintains current product knowledge of bakery items.
  • Removes product from baking pans and garnishes according to item requirements.
  • Weighs finished products and logs into records.
  • Packages and wraps baked goods by hand or with a wrapping machine and label.
  • Stocks and rotates bakery products onto tables and pallets.
  • Assists bakers and cake decorators with production on scratch and frozen items and follows production procedures and standards for quality and consistency of finished product.
  • Rotates and merchandises product throughout the day.
  • Follows Standard Sanitation Operating Procedure (SSOP) guidelines for cleaning and sanitation of all equipment.
  • Completes and complies with food safety certification and all safety training required by the bakery department.
  • Cleans and sanitizes the bakery area, including sweeping, mopping, spraying, washing, applying cleaning agents, wiping, and operating a pressure washer.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Assists in other departments of the warehouse as necessary.
  • Provides prompt and courteous customer service to members, employees, and suppliers.
