Health Safety and Environment Professional

This is a pivotal role within our organization requiring a self-motivated Health Safety and Environment professional with passion for hands-on work and broader business objectives.
About the RoleThe ideal candidate will report to the Health Safety and Environment Manager, playing a crucial role in supporting project and site managers in delivering safe and compliant projects. Key responsibilities include conducting audits, risk assessments, and inspections while providing training and guidance to teams on the ground.
Key Responsibilities:- Support project and site managers in implementing and maintaining Health Safety and Environment management systems.
- Review and monitor Health Safety and Environment Plans, subcontractor documentation, and SWMS.
- Conduct site audits, inspections, and safety walks to ensure compliance with legislation and company standards.
- Facilitate inductions, pre-starts, toolbox talks, and on-site training.
- Support incident and injury management processes, including return-to-work requirements.
- Monitor project risk assessments, ensuring new risks are identified and controlled.
- Prepare and compile monthly reporting, updating internal systems as required.
- Promote a positive health and safety culture across sites and projects.
- Minimum qualification in Health and Safety.
- At least 5 years' experience in Health Safety and Environment within construction or a related industry.
- Strong knowledge of WHS legislation, codes, and management systems.
- Current return-to-work qualifications.
- Experience with workers' compensation or occupational rehabilitation highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Proven ability to foster and drive a positive health and safety culture.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Accountability, reliability, and strong attention to detail.
