Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled individual to join our team as an Apprentice Fabricator. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who want to develop their skills in metal fabrication and welding.

About the Role

This apprenticeship will provide you with hands-on experience in a workshop environment, where you will learn and develop practical knowledge and skills in welding, cutting, shaping, and assembling metal components using various tools and machinery.

You will be supported by our experienced Workshop and Fleet team, who will guide you throughout your training and development journey.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Workshop and Fleet team in day-to-day activities
  • Develop and apply skills in metal fabrication and welding under supervision
  • Complete a Certificate III in Engineering, Fabrication course at North Wollongong TAFE
What We Offer

This is a temporary full-time position up to 4 years, working 38 hours per week with access to a 9 Day-fortnight roster. You will also receive:

  • A competitive salary ranging from $601.70 per week (for a 16 year old) up to $827.40 per week (for someone aged 18 and over)
  • 12% superannuation contributions
Ongoing Support and Training

Council's Cadet, Apprentice and Trainee (CAT) Program aims to grow our skilled workforce capacity by creating job opportunities and a talent pipeline for specialized roles. As part of this program, you will receive ongoing training, guidance, and support from workplace mentors while completing a nationally recognized qualification.

You will also need to complete a Pre-placement Medical examination and obtain a General Construction Induction Card (White Card) prior to commencement.
