Senior Infrastructure Engineer Position

We are seeking an experienced Senior Infrastructure Engineer to lead our team's efforts in designing, implementing, and maintaining the infrastructure that supports digital services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement infrastructure requirements to meet future infrastructure demand.
  • Provide expert technical support for project build, test, and solution deployment activities.
  • Prepare, review, and maintain documentation, including design documentation, implementation plans, test plans, and support procedures.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of strategies, operational policy, and procedures, as well as change initiatives.
  • Participate in change management processes and communicate end-to-end implications of configuration changes.
  • Provide detailed, specialist technical advice, including strategic advice to senior executives.
  • Proactively share knowledge and expertise as a subject matter expert and provide aid and mentorship to less-experienced colleagues.
  • Undertake research on emerging technologies and provide recommendations on product suitability for the agency.
  • Engage and partner with other agencies and service providers to build service delivery capability.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of five (5) years' demonstrated experience in the design, management, and maintenance of internet gateway and/or large-scale data centre networking environments.
  • Demonstrated experience and technical proficiency in the design of services utilising F5/Blue Coat Layer 4-7 switching and proxy systems.
  • Demonstrated experience in the design and deployment of network infrastructure, including Cisco Data Centre technologies like Cisco ACI, Cisco Routers, Nexus switches, routing protocols like BGP, OSPF, EIGRP.
  • Demonstrated experience with and/or detailed understanding of Palo Alto firewalls and IPS Solutions.
  • Demonstrated experience in the design and implementation of VPN technologies, email, and DNS (Infoblox) Solutions.
  • Demonstrated experience in the design and integration of hybrid and public cloud services.
  • Demonstrated experience with or knowledge of Australian Government information security policies, the ASD Information Security Manual, and Essential Eight.
Qualifications:
  • Cisco Data Centre technologies like Cisco ACI, Cisco Routers, nexus switches, routing protocols like BGP, OSPF, EIGRP.
  • Palo Alto firewalls and IPS Solutions.
  • VPN technologies, email, and DNS (Infoblox) Solutions.
  • Hybrid and public cloud services.
  • NV1 Security Clearance.

As a key member of our IT team, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the development and implementation of our technology strategy.
