Leadership Opportunity in Mental Health Care

This role presents a rare chance to take on leadership responsibilities within our Older Person Mental Health team. As a Team Leader, you will be part of a dynamic environment that prioritizes capability development and recovery-oriented care.

The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of issues affecting older persons with mental health problems and be able to provide clinical leadership and support.

  • Clinical Leadership: Provide guidance and oversight to ensure the best possible outcomes for consumers.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Develop close working relationships with various stakeholders to facilitate timely admission and discharge, promoting patient flow and community care.
  • Face-to-Face Interaction: Maintain clinical responsibility through regular contact with consumers, carers, and families, while working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Consumer Rights: Support and promote consumer and carer rights in clinical settings and contribute to service planning, focusing on a Recovery-oriented approach.
  • Clinical Practice Improvement: Foster a culture of improvement, initiating Quality Improvement projects within the OPMH team, ensuring processes of care are clearly understood.

You will also participate in strategic, business, and operational planning within our organization.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Relevant qualification in Clinical Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, or Nursing with current registration.
  • Fascination and Commitment: Demonstrate a genuine interest in the lives of older people and a commitment to empowering and supporting them with dignity and a recovery focus.
  • Team Leadership: Show enthusiasm for leading a diverse multidisciplinary team.
  • Problem-Solving Abilities: Possess strong problem-solving and quick-thinking skills.
