Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Scientist to lead our Immunopathology team at CC Medical. The ideal candidate will have expertise in interpreting various Indirect Immunofluorescence assays and have hands-on experience in performing and verifying assays using techniques such as Indirect Immunofluorescence, ELISA, Chemiluminescence, and Immunoblot.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and Operate the Autoimmune Subsection: Oversee the day-to-day operation of the Autoimmune subsection, performing complex testing, including Indirect Immunofluorescence interpretation, result interpretation and verification, instrument trouble shooting, monitoring of quality control, and supervision of staff.
  • Maintain Immunopathology Operational Policies and Procedures: Develop, implement, and maintain Immunopathology operational policies and procedures, monitor internal and external quality control, and ensure compliance with NPAAC/NATA medical laboratory requirements.
  • Lead and Motivate Scientific and Junior Medical Staff: Lead, motivate, and train scientific and junior medical staff to ensure the highest level of quality and productivity.
  • Collaborate with Senior Leadership: Collaborate with the Chief Scientist and Director of Immunopathology in providing leadership in strategic planning and optimal operational management of the Department.
  • Undertake Other Duties: Undertake other duties appropriate to this level of classification which contribute to the operation of the organisation.
Requirements
  • Tertiary Qualifications: Tertiary qualifications (or equivalent) in Medical Laboratory Science, Diagnostic Pathology, or Applied Science with a minimum of five years' experience working professionally in a diagnostic laboratory, including experience within Immunopathology.
  • Computer Literacy: Computer literacy skills are required to complete required documentation and become a proficient user of the Digital Health Record and/or other Information Technology systems.

  • Competitive Salary: $105,900 - $119,774 (Plus 11.5% Super) per year
  • Monday to Friday Work Schedule: Work a standard Monday to Friday schedule with occasional participation in the out of hours roster and overtime as required.
