Commercial Analyst Job Description

Scolmore is seeking a skilled Commercial Analyst to drive business growth by providing data-driven insights and recommendations. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, commercial awareness, and excellent communication abilities.

Job Responsibilities:
  • New Product Validation: Conduct thorough analysis of new products to assess their commercial viability, focusing on target pricing, costs, and margin expectations.
  • Product Performance Analysis: Review and analyze product progress against targets, market performance, and return on investment to inform future planning decisions.
  • Slow & Obsolete Stock: Identify slow-moving items, propose corrective actions, and influence phase-out to mitigate risk.
  • Market Data Harvesting: Collaborate with the external sales team to gather reliable market data for launching new products and reviewing existing product performance.
  • System Data Maintenance: Maintain and manage customer price files within the system, including promotions and pricing adjustments.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Strong Commercial Awareness and Analytical Skills: Ability to compile, interpret, and analyze key trends and data sets to support strategic business decisions.
  • Project Management Skills: Ensure that analytical initiatives align with business goals, are delivered on time, and drive measurable impact.
  • Attention to Detail: Ensure accuracy in analysis and reporting.
  • Effective Communication: Ability to use a broad range of communication styles and choose appropriate ways to communicate to different audiences.
  • Problem-Solving: Identify opportunities to improve current processes and develop solutions/efficiencies.
