We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to fill the position of Head of Department - Student Services. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the implementation of innovative measures aimed at improving student learning outcomes and attendance in schools with a significant percentage of students from disadvantaged backgrounds.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in education and experience in leading teams to achieve quality learning outcomes for all students. They will be responsible for providing management and engagement strategies, including induction activities for new arrivals, and advising on specific academic, social, and emotional needs of new students.
The Head of Department will also be responsible for monitoring students' individual performance and behavior, developing and implementing intervention strategies where necessary, and communicating and working with parents, staff, higher education institutes, and State Schools Division to develop strategies to improve learning outcomes, student achievements, and attendance.
The successful candidate will be a strong leader who can embed socially just practices in daily school life, understand the legislation and policies that impact on schooling, and manage the human, financial, facilities, and curriculum resources of the school department to achieve goals.
