About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join the CALHN Pharmacy Manufacturing team as a Pharmacy Assistant. CALHN Pharmacy is the largest manufacturing service in the SA public system, with a broad range of products compounded and opportunities available for a motivated, organised and engaging individual. Prior experience in a hospital pharmacy manufacturing service is highly valued.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the dispensing and distribution of medications, ensuring that patients receive their treatments efficiently and accurately.
  • Contribute to a smooth and welcoming experience for all visitors through various cashier and reception activities.
  • Assist in the manufacture of pharmaceuticals, further enhancing your expertise in the field.
Requirements
  • A strong willingness to learn and develop skills under the guidance of supervising staff, alongside sound arithmetic and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, showcasing good organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical products, medical terminology, and pharmacy manufacturing methods, with proficiency in Pharmacy Management Software.
  • Proven experience in a hospital pharmacy, with an understanding of the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme and a commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and ethical practices.
