Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Tailings Engineer to join our team. This position offers an exciting opportunity for a talented individual to contribute to innovative and challenging projects, working closely with our clients' tailings and mine waste management teams.

This role involves providing technical and operational support for Tailings Storage Facilities (TSFs) and Water Storage Facilities (WSF), applying geotechnical analyses using various software packages, conducting site characterisation and developing instrumentation monitoring systems.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil or geotechnical engineering, with advanced degree preferred. Professional registration is also desired but not essential. A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in a consulting environment or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support client's tailings and mine waste management teams to ensure facilities are safe and compliant with the latest standards.
  • Provide technical and operational support for TSFs and WSF.
  • Apply geotechnical analyses using various software packages.
  • Conduct site characterisation and develop instrumentation monitoring systems.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in civil or geotechnical engineering or a related field.
  • Advanced degree in civil or geotechnical engineering or a related field (preferred).
  • Professional registration (preferred but not essential).
  • Engineer of Record (EoR) certification.
  • At least 8 years of relevant experience in a consulting environment or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of geotechnical engineering software and numerical modeling tools.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills.
